The Cedar Valley Nature Trail

Having a family reunion? Take the whole crowd on a hike along this wide level trail. Built on what was once a railroad right of way the trail has a very level surface- so is handicap accessible. The Cedar Valley Nature Trail is made up of many trails. This colorful user friendly site has maps showing starting points in each of the towns along the main 52 mile Nature Trail which links two large cities. The path takes you through prairie grasslands to forested bottomlands, past scenic streams and river crossings, rolling farmlands and small Iowa towns. Information on the site lists small rest areas along the way with nice facilities.
