Theodore Roosevelt National Park Hiking Trails

The overlook at TRNP Painted Canyon will leave you breathless with the sight of the panorama of the upper ring of the badlands. This canyon, located in Theodore Roosevelt National Park is about seven miles east of Medora. This southern part of TR’s national park also has a 36-mile scenic loop road and five hiking trails. The Northern part of the park has six hiking trails and this site gives brief descriptions and length of the hikes.

Summer Trails in North Dakota’s State Parks

This site has a simple chart with names of trails, their locations and length and the type of trail. Trail maps can be found at the entrance stations in each park. Links in the margin take you to state parks and information helpful for everything from fees to kids. Links under a recreation section include topics like scenic byways and grant programs. Links under nature include plants and animals, birding in ND and nature preserves. Another link to information gives press releases, addresses and other links.
