Washington’s Forests, Parks, Trails This hi-tech site on Washington’s forests, parks and trails has a large interpretive colorful map in the middle of the main page. You click on the areas of your interest and it takes you to a large map of that region and then you click again to zoom in. Very nice detail basic maps. The main page has a search feature-your can type in the name of the trail you are interested in. Link to maps at top of the page takes you to list of links under Washington. I clicked on one and it took me to a nicely done page of information on that area. http://www.nps.gov/olym/dayhike.htm Here is there link to day hikes.
The dark green background on the main page of this site makes the photos stand out sharply. I tried clicking on one of the photos as they were small and sure enough it linked to a larger photo. Links for more photos are available and links to the left side margin include Hikes with a drop down menu of hikes the author of the site took in the last few yrs. Each hike links to more info and photos. Other links on the main page margin were Site Map, Books, Miscellaneous and Home. Site map had tons of links. The photos are outstanding through out this site.
